Newington Fish Bar is inland on Newington Road. It is not the choice for an immediate harbour view, but it has a restaurant, takeaway service and online collection. The business publishes information about its fish sourcing, packaging and current awards rather than relying only on customer ratings.

Choose it when the food and collection arrangement matter more than carrying chips straight to the beach. Drivers should plan parking rather than assuming a seafront car park will be useful.

Broadstairs town centre: Broadstairs Fish Inn

Broadstairs Fish Inn is on the High Street. Its menu includes fish, chips, burgers, wraps, children's choices and vegetarian items. Viking Bay is downhill from the shop, so takeaway by the beach is possible without buying directly on the promenade.

Remember that the return is uphill. Indoor or nearby seating may be the easier choice for some groups. Use the current allergen information and ask about shared fryers where that matters.

Before carrying food to the beach
