Ramsgate has more vegan choice than a quick menu search might suggest, but the clearest options are spread across cafes, restaurants and mixed menus. This guide favours places that publish a vegan menu, label individual dishes or explain the choice on their own website.

The menus were checked on 1 September 2026. Recipes and kitchen procedures change, so contact the venue if an allergy or intolerance affects the order.

Choose quickly

  • The broadest dedicated vegan restaurant menu: Il Tricolore.
  • All-day choice for a mixed group: Perico Lounge.
  • Clearly labelled burgers and pasta: Slice Ramsgate.
  • Thai food with vegan dishes available: Thai Orchid.
  • Coffee or a light daytime meal: Union Yoga and Cafe.

For a full Italian vegan menu: Il Tricolore

Il Tricolore publishes a separate vegan section rather than expecting diners to piece a meal together from side dishes. At the time of research it covered starters, pasta, pizza, gnocchi and calzone, with vegan mozzarella used in several dishes.

This is the strongest option when a group wants a conventional sit-down restaurant and the vegan diner still wants a proper choice. The menu also marks a few sides that contain dairy, so read each label rather than assuming every vegetable dish is vegan. Speak to the restaurant about allergens and shared preparation.

For the widest all-day format: Perico Lounge

Perico Lounge sits on Beach Drive beside the promenade. Its venue page links to a dedicated vegan menu and says food is served throughout the day. There are also separate gluten-free and children's menus, which makes it an easier choice for a group with different requirements.

Most smaller parties can walk in, while the venue asks groups of six or more to enquire. The Ramsgate page lists wheelchair accessible seating and a wheelchair accessible toilet. Specify the vegan version when ordering and check again if an allergy is involved.

For clearly labelled burgers and pasta: Slice Ramsgate

Slice marks several dishes as vegan on its ordering menu. The current choice includes plant-based burgers, tomato pasta and roasted vegetable pasta. This is useful when one group wants vegan food alongside pizza, burgers and other familiar options.

Online menus can move quickly, so use the vegan label shown when you order. Sides, sauces and shared cooking equipment need a separate check if cross-contamination matters.

For Thai food: Thai Orchid

Thai Orchid is a family-run restaurant in West Cliff Arcade. Its own menu page says the kitchen offers vegetarian and vegan dishes alongside meat and seafood. That makes it a useful evening option, but the online menu does not label every suitable dish in detail.

Ask which curries, stir-fries and sauces can be prepared vegan. Fish sauce, oyster sauce and egg are the details worth checking in a mixed Thai kitchen, even when the main ingredients look plant-based.

For coffee and a light daytime stop: Union Yoga and Cafe

Union is a yoga studio and cafe on Queen Street. The cafe describes its food as homemade and vegetarian, with sweet treats, speciality coffee and a simple daytime menu. Its website currently lists cafe opening from Tuesday to Saturday, 9am to 3pm.

Vegetarian does not automatically mean vegan, and the day-to-day choice can change. Ask what is vegan before ordering, particularly with cakes, dressings and milk alternatives.

A sensible way to choose

Pick Il Tricolore when the vegan menu itself should be part of the occasion. Perico works for breakfast through to evening and is the easiest mixed-group choice. Slice is informal and direct about its labelled dishes. Thai Orchid adds a different dinner option, while Union suits coffee and lunch.

None of these venues is described here as a fully vegan kitchen. If shared fryers, utensils or preparation areas matter, ask the venue directly before visiting.
